Where Our Story Begins
Hello and welcome to Wooden Toy Story!
I’m Tom, the owner and storyteller behind this little shop. This dream started with my journey into fatherhood. For years, I worked a steady 9–5 job at a board game manufacturing company. It was creative and fulfilling in its own way, but when I became a single dad, everything changed. I wanted to spend more time at home with my son and be a part of his everyday world.
Just like many parents, I started by filling shelves with the latest flashy, battery-powered toys from the local shopping mall. But I quickly noticed something—he barely played with them. A few minutes of excitement, and then these flashy toys ended up forgotten in the cabinet.

Interestingly, what truly captured his imagination were the simple wooden birthday gift toys his grandfather had crafted by hand in spare time. As a former carpenter, my father poured love into each piece, and I watched how these toys inspired my son to explore, create, and engage in ways plastic never could. That realization led me to discover Montessori-inspired play and the magic of open-ended toys—safe, timeless, and filled with possibility.
With my background in the toy industry and a passion for meaningful play, I set out to source the very best wooden toys from around the world. Every piece in our collection is thoughtfully hand-selected, ethically made, and sustainably sourced. You won’t find toxic or unsafe toys here, they’ve all been tested and approved by the best judges of all: My own children.

Made to last for generations, our classic heirloom toys and room decor help children develop sorting, matching, ordering, language, logic, spatial awareness, recognition, organization, planning, and balance from an early age. You will not find batteries or plastic here. Every product is ethically made and sustainably sourced, with care for both children and the planet. Our hope is that these toys bring families closer together while gently supporting children as they grow.
What began as a small idea in my living room has grown into a community of parents, caregivers, and small business owners who share these same values. We may be a small business, but our dream is big: to bring the joy of wooden toys to more children, one playful moment at a time. Thank you for welcoming our products into your home. Jim
Jim is the one and only engineer on our small team—we call him the man behind the scenes, always hard working, with years of experience making wooden furniture and toys. And when he finally gets some spare time, he’s the kind of guy who enjoys a few strong Margaritas after work.

Tom
Tom would rather call himself “the guy pushed onto the stage” than the founder. With years of experience in project management and marketing, he’s now the one doing the talking—along with graphic design and content creation in this tiny workshop. Outside of work, he enjoys being alone with a good novel.

Emma
Emma is the numbers boss of our team and the one who keeps everything sorted for the other two men—accounting, inventory, customer service, and buying materials. She’s doing all the things that make this whole thing actually work. Weekends are for her two dogs and long walks far away from crowds.
